  • Her Majesty Queen Noor, Center for Living Peace

Queen Noor, the widow of King Al Hussein is interested in education, conservation, sustainable development, human rights and cross-cultural understanding, as well as their application to human security. Since 1979, the Noor Al Hussein Foundation and the King Hussein Foundation have tackled the global challenges of poverty eradication, women’s empowerment, microfinance and health. Queen Noor is also a longtime advocate for Arab-Israeli peace.

  • Women, War & Peace, Center for Living Peace

Academy Award-winning actor Geena Davis, documentary filmmaker Abigail Disney, and UC Irvine associate professor of anthropology and film & media studies Roxanne Varzi spoke to Orange County leaders and philanthropists to mark the Southern California debut of “Women, War & Peace,” a bold, five-part PBS television series challenging the conventional wisdom that war and peace are men’s domain.

  • His Holiness The XIV Dalai Lama, Center for Living Peace

His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama spoke at the University of California, Irvine as a part of the Living Peace Series and engaged students and the community in a discussion about compassion, happiness, interfaith harmony, and global leadership. 

Wearing his traditional red and saffron robes, the Dalai Lama spoke about how the goal of education should be to "develop sensible, compassionate leaders who are realistic and warmhearted." He also stressed the importance of respect for all religions, and nonbelievers as well.

Branson’s nonprofit foundation, Virgin Unite, teams governments, business leaders and volunteers to forge solutions to global ills.

The Oscar-winning actor and United Nations Messenger of Peace appeared with Dr. Michael Bennish, founder and executive director of Mpilonhle, to discuss the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which promotes safety and health among impoverished children and communities in South Africa – with a focus on those suffering from HIV/AIDS.

  • Oceana, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012

Lead efforts to raise over $3M in Orange County for Oceana, the world’s largest ocean conservation group dedicated to protecting and restoring our world’s oceans.  Honorees included Harrison Ford, Glenn Close, Jeff Bridges, Diane Lane, Josh Brolin, Pierce Brosnan, and Sam Waterston.

Altitude 7 Conferences & Symposiums:

Fueling California hosted a symposium that brought together leading voices from regulatory agencies, industry leaders, environmental organizations, government, alternative energy companies and academia to discuss California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard Program.

Assembled an outstanding slate of speakers that covered a vast array of investment topics and other important issues over the course of two days.  The impressive list of featured speakers included Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Visionary Environmental Business Leader and Advocate, and Earvin “Magic” Johnson – Hall of Fame NBA

A variety of views from science and philosophy were presented and the event was lively and informative. Altitude assisting in bringing world-renown panelists including practicing scientists, authors, health professionals as well as experts in philosophical systems from different fields. Panelists included Deepak Chopra, M.D., Stuart Hameroff, M.D., Menas Kafatos, Ph.D., and other notable experts.

Altitude 7 assisted in inviting speakers to the annual wealth management conference held at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach.  Speakers included Geoff Shester, Ph.D., and Jackie Savitz representing Oceana, the world's largest ocean conservation group based in Washington DC.

The Schmid College of Science and Technology, in conjunction with the School of Law, organized Beyond Copenhagen, a three-day conference event at Chapman University.  The conference focused on exploring the many potential challenges and opportunities in climate change from the science involved to the task of determining what changes in policy would produce viable and sustainable environmental improvement.  Altitude 7's responsibilities included identifying and requesting attendance of keynote speaker and panelists.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger convened the second annual summit of subnational leaders that including 30 governors, premiers, mayors and senior officials from around the world.  Altitude 7 responsibilities included the creation of a panel to discuss the impact of global warming on the world's oceans.

Created a collaborative conference between three major universities:  UC Irvine’s Newkirk Center for Science & Society, Chapman University and California State University, Fullerton.   A daylong solutions-oriented forum, speakers moved beyond the science explaining environmental degradation to describe existing and potential practices that minimize the human carbon footprint.  Altitude 7 secured the keynote speaker, Linda S. Adams, Secretary, California Environmental Protection Agency.
